Nestled in the historical grounds of Barkerville, St George Hotel took us back in time with its authentic 1890s charm and modern amenities subtly woven in. The friendly staff made us feel right at home as we explored the largest historic site in Western North America. The comfortable parlour was perfect for mingling with new friends while enjoying a favorite beverage. Our cozy room, furnished with period décor, offered a glimpse into the past while providing all the comforts we needed. The Willow River Inn, a 1930s heritage building, treated us to stunning mountain views from its two balconies. Watching the town wind down from the upper balcony with a glass of wine was a highlight not to be missed.The Riverwalk's private location along the Fraser River allowed us to unwind in nature, while the proximity to Quesnel's vibrant core made exploring restaurants and cafes a breeze. From the rich gold rush history to the unique photographic workshop experiences, St George Hotel offers a retreat where every moment feels like a step back in time, blended perfectly with the present. My photography companions and I couldn't have asked for a more inspiring setting to capture our own unique history.
